A new playground for the rural village of Chimpamba in Malawi:

The project was developed and run as a design competition with 3rd year degree architecture students from the University of Johannesburg (UJ), under the leadership of architect and senior lecturer Alexander Opper. Rachel Aub won the student competition. The design was refined for construction purposes (2016) with the assistance of three of her classmates: Cindy Langa, Madelin Thackeray and Juan du Plessis. The project was supported with funding via the New York based NGO, Youth of Malawi, UJ's 'Community Engagement' and Architecture for a Change.
